Ty Isaf Nursery
We are located on an Infant School site behind the Nursery building. We are registered to accommodate 20 places per day.
We have a large, bright, and spacious room which is designed for the children to access independently. There is a designated kitchen area for staff and children to prepare snacks and cooking activities. Children can access the toilets independently and we have a nappy changing station. We are an inclusive provision and can support children with any emerging needs or significant needs.
The staff follow the new Curriculum for Wales for non-maintained provision, which focus on children’s interests and offer engaging activities using loose parts and natural resources and real food to enhance them develop their imagination, social skills, and communication needs.
We are able to use the nursery garden which has been designed with exciting outdoor equipment to encourage the children to take age-appropriate risks.

We strive to offer a high-quality provision and have completed several quality assurance schemes which are embedded into our practise. Such as:

We were rated a 5 star from Environmental Health Agency.
The staff team have excellent links with the school and outside agencies such as health visitors, Early Years team.
Morning:
We hold playgroup sessions for 2-3years in the morning and offer funded Flying Start places.
Our session times are 9.00am – 11.30am
We ask for parents to make sure children are wearing playing clothes so that they can explore freely with all activities on offer. Children will be playing outdoors as much as possible during the session in all weathers children will need wellies and waterproofs that can stay at the setting.
Children receive a healthy snack and take part in the design to smile scheme to encourage children to brush their teeth.
Afternoon:
Children aged 3-4years old, attend for their wraparound sessions; staff collect the children from the nursery (adjacent to our building) at 11.45pm.
Our session times are 11.45pm – 3.15pm
Children bring in a healthy packed lunch, where they sit with the staff and eat alongside their peers.
Parents can bring a set of play clothes for their child to change into from their school uniform.
Children will be playing outdoors as much as possible during the session in all weathers so we ask parents to bring in wellies and waterproofs.
Holiday club:
9am – 3pm sessions throughout the school holidays, for childcare offer funding and fee paying. Places need to be booked in advance.
Transition:
Once a place has been allocated, Faye (our setting manager) will contact the parents to come and visit the setting and confirm transition sessions. We require parents to complete the child’s registration forms, contract and ‘All About Me forms’ to inform the staff in readiness before the child’s start date to support transition.
We will arrange transition sessions for your child starting school and pass on all relevant information to the school to ease the process.
